Your weekly Rotary minute - 07/30/2009

Hello Everyone,

As I'm writing this a storm is racing across our area. This has been a challenging summer...
I've heard people say this may be due to an El Nino effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Ni%C3%B1o)
(Any opinions/comments?)

OK Rotary business. Last we held our first board meeting. It was very successful and we have a framework for a full and productive year. Continue to watch this space....

** SPECIAL PRESENTATION **
This week (30th) we will have an informative presentation from our own Melinda Middlebrooks. This actually follows a little from the informative session that we had from Elly last week, however it won't be as.
She will speak about the benefits of bankruptcy especially in these tough economic times. Pleas prepare your questions for her, this might be a good time to pick up some valuable information.

** ANNUAL REGATTA **
So the time is getting near. If you haven't snagged a ride on a boat, please do so now.
Its Regatta time in one more week. Friday, August 7th at Pelican Cove (Seaside Hts).
Jim has assured me that he's arranged in advance for some spectacular weather (I hope I didn't just jinx it...)
Lets try to make Regatta 2009 a super special event and gather even better footage for the follow up annual viewing of the Regatta, for those who could not make it.

So if you have a boat, join in. If you don't have a boat, jump aboard someone else's.
Charlie Minton, Herb Singe, Manny Rey, Steve Hehl and me are regular boaters.
