Rotary : Weekly Rotary Minute 20091014

Hello Everyone,

Reminder: No regular lunch meeting this Thursday!

We have a speaker for next week the 22nd of October from the Gift of Life Foundation and Jim D. will make a Polio presentation on the 29th. 

A number of people have also approached me asking for available days to book speakers. We have all Thursdays in November through the holidays in December open  (excluding Thanksgiving of course).

Please pick a day, confirm with your speaker and contact Jorge and/or me so we can update the schedule. I would like to lock in all speakers by the end of next week so we aren't scrambling at the beginning of each week to find a speaker.

OK next, by now everyone should have read Norm's message. This is our premier fund raising event. We need everyone after reading his message to contact Norm and Eileen with their updated numbers. If you have no updated numbers, then put on your sales hat and lets get some in. Less than 4 weeks to go...

We need ALL Rotarians to take this event seriously and not wait for the last minute.

We are many Rotarians, but one club with a single purpose. Lets make this event one that we can be proud of.

OK after rallying the troops for our Automobilia event, I also want to excite members about the district's Eat drink and share event. I know it seems like much with these two events being this close but;

-They address two distinct audiences - Deserving people that our local club serves and people that need help at the district level. The important thing is we are striving to help those that need an extra hand. Think about how much good cheer our efforts bring especially to children around the holidays. They're right around the corner...

- After these two events are over there isn't really anything else until later in 2010, especially at the district level. Everything has been front loaded at the beginning of the year.

So please make that extra effort to support both events. They are extremely worthy causes, plus you will have lots of fun, food and fellowship. A winning combination of invaluable worth.

For all of you that have never been, this is a real treat. It is a major fund raising event for the foundation.

I am challenging the club to take two tables this year. Bring your spouse or a friend...or both.

Pines Manor in Edison. Great event. Restaurants, Chefs, wine tasting. No speeches!
