Two weeks ago we welcomed our guest speaker Mike Meyer, friend of Jim DiGiovani. Mike is a retired Newark Public School teacher. Mike gave us a lesson on Astronomy. He spoke about planets, moons and stars. We learned about seasons, days and years. Mike used a slide presentation to visualize the concepts of Astronomy.
The Union Public School 3rd grade students sent us thank you letters and cards for the dictionaries we donated to them. The letters and cards were very gratifying.
Sharon Patel reported on the District Assembly. Eight members from our club attended. Sharon said they learned about other club programs. It was “great fellowship”. At our meeting Sharon won the 50/50 Joker Jackpot. The prize was $760. Sharon, please provide the Club treasurer, Jack Guidera, with your social security number for 1099 reporting. LOL !
